Frequently Asked Questions
Please review these common questions before reaching out to book an appointment!
I completely understand you want to be thoughtful about your time, energy and finances. Before we talk about costs, I invite you to reflect on two important questions:
- What is it costing me to not work with a dietitian? ( physically, mentally, emotionally)
- If I knew I’d get real results with Liliek’s support, what would that be worth to me?
Here’s what you can expect:
- Initial consultation up to 75 minutes: $150
- Follow-up session up to 45 minutes: $75

I see client virtually using a HIPPA compliant platform called Practice Better.
While I don’t accept insurance at this time, I’m happy to provide a Superbill (a coded receipt) upon request, which you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance provider in advance to see what services may be covered. I accept all major credit cards, including payments through Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).
My cancellation/rescheduling policy is 48 hours notice or you will be charged the full fee for your session. Please note that insurance does not cover late cancellation/no-show fees. A credit/debit card on file is required to hold your appointment. This policy is in place out of respect for both me and my clients. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are difficult to fill. By giving last-minute notice or no notice at all, you prevent someone else from being able to schedule into that time slot.
Medical nutrition therapy is a unique experience for everyone, and the path you take will be tailored to you. Your active involvement plays a significant role in how long therapy lasts and considering options today is a great start! How long it takes depends on what we’re working on, what you want to achieve, if you’re ready to make changes, who’s supporting you, and other things. We can talk about how long it might take when we first meet
Like anything in life, there is no guarantee! However, there is a large amount body of research that shows the effectiveness of nutrition therapy.
Not a problem! It’s true that not everyone clicks with every dietitian, and feeling comfortable together is super important. If you don’t feel like we’re the right fit, I may be able to refer you to other dietitians who might be a better match for you.
I am licensed in Texas, which means I can see anyone who resides in Texas. Our appointments can be done virtually or in person in Houston.
I don’t offer food sensitivity testing. According to The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology these tests haven’t been proven to work and can be misleading. If you’re worried about food allergies, seeing a board-certified allergist is the best step.
I don’t do hormone testing myself. However, I’d be glad to work with your gynecologist, primary care doctor, or endocrinologist and look over any hormone tests they’ve ordered for you. My goal is to help you understand your body better and guide you with food and lifestyle choices to improve your health.
I offer a virtual counseling that can be accessed in all 50 states. However, because of licensing rules, I can only work with people who live in states where I’m licensed or where a license isn’t needed. Right now, I can offer nutrition counseling in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. I’m hoping to add more states later, so if you don’t see yours listed, please reach out anyway!
I offer a sliding scale fee option for clients who are lower income. Please reach out to me so we can create a plan that works for you, no documentation or application necessary.
To become a dietitian, you need a 4-year college degree, a year of supervised practice (1200 hours), and you have to pass a national test. Many states, like Texas, also require a license. Dietitians also need to keep learning to stay certified.
This thorough training gives dietitians the skills to provide nutrition advice and support that’s based on science and tailored to you. In Texas, only licensed dietitians can legally give personalized nutrition advice. This licensing helps protect the public because anyone can call themselves a nutritionist or health coach without any set qualifications. Choosing a registered dietitian ensures you’re working with a qualified expert.
On the other hand, there aren’t any standard requirements to be a nutritionist. Anyone can use that title, and there’s no organization checking their qualifications. They might have some nutrition knowledge, but it can vary a lot and is often less than what dietitians learn.
The main takeaway is to check the qualifications of any nutrition professional you work with to make sure they’re qualified to help you.
